Marcelo Martins & Gustavo Bresler
Iniciador

We want any company to be able to offer its own Open Finance products and Payment Initiation under its own brand — without burdening their tech teams.
From the outset, Marcelo was driven by a fascination with the hidden mechanics of money — “how resources flow from A to B” — and all the complexity behind those transactions. Having already built and sold a company, he saw how nascent the legal and technical infrastructure for Open Finance and next-generation Pix payments still was in Brazil. He envisioned a platform that could shoulder the heavy lifting — the API integrations, compliance, and scale — so that more organizations could bring innovative financial products to market without reinventing plumbing.
When Gustavo joined as COO, he brought deep experience spanning fintech, venture capital, and regulatory tech. Over the last decade, he advised and built in emerging‐tech sectors, and worked within Brazil’s Open Finance governance ecosystem, participating in Central Bank working groups. Together with Marcelo, he helped crystallize the mission: to build a white-label, full-stack infrastructure of payment initiation + banking data connectivity that companies could embed under their own brands — without the burden of heavy regulatory or engineering load.
Today, Iniciador powers critical pieces of Brazil’s Open Finance and Pix ecosystem. It serves as the invisible infrastructure behind offerings like Pix via biometrics, automatic recurring Pix, “intelligent” Pix flows, and connective data services. With licenses as both a Payment Institution and Payment Initiator (ITP), it handles API orchestration, daily operations of connectivity, and regulatory compliance. Its clients range from fintechs to large platforms — and its monetization ties their success to its own: it earns, in part, per successful transaction executed through its systems.
