Based in São Paulo, Brazil and coming from an emerging market himself, Carlos has worked across industries including food security, education and logistics in LATAM. At Alter, he supports founders on their entrepreneurial journeys post-investment while optimizing the firm's internal operations.
Previously, Carlos worked at The World Bank, addressing governmental challenges related to food security in remote locations of Colombia. He also worked at Chiper, a B2B ecommerce startup, where he led the product team and supported operations to expand to new markets. In 2019, as a Data Science for Social Good fellow, he partnered with Barefootlaw, a legal NGO in Uganda to use AI to expand their reach.
Carlos graduated from Universidad de los Andes, where he earned a degree in Engineering and a master’s in Data Science. He enjoys rock climbing, kitesurfing and traveling.
