Alter Marketing Lead

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team and lead Alter’s brand and social media presence. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our network, starting with our team members, Founders, Alter Fellows and other investors to distill knowledge and help build and scale the Alter brand. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skillset to craft and tell stories of some of the best entrepreneurs shaping the next wave of innovation in emerging markets, from Jakarta to Sao Paolo to Bangalore.

You will be at the forefront of global trends in emerging markets, learn more about the world of venture capital and have plenty of development opportunities, tailored to your unique professional and personal goals.

Moreover, since we are a remote team, you have the option of being based anywhere in the world and even joining our Fellowship hubs in Istanbul, Bali or Nairobi.

Structure

This is a Fellowship position that will span a one-year period, after which (assuming a successful working relationship) there will be the opportunity to convert it into a long-term position

Responsibilities:

  • Build an audience, create content, strategize and execute. You’ll be doing everything from creating new campaigns, measuring and sharing performance to developing new content. You’re skilled and resourceful when it comes to social content creation and enjoy getting your hands dirty.
  • Establish a voice and tone for Alter and tweak it depending on the social platform
  • Engage different Alter stakeholders and capture their stories/narratives across different channels, from Medium to Clubhouse to LinkedIn
  • Stay on top of social media industry trends and the competitive landscape
  • Master process management/project management tools such as Airtable and many others
  • Oversee the key KPIs, deliverables, and milestones of core projects
  • Plan, manage, and maintain growth marketing campaigns
  • Contribute social media marketing efforts to drive brand awareness and engage with consumers on multiple platforms
  • Research relevant industry experts, competitors, target audience, and users

Requirements

All applicants must have:

  • 2+ years of work experience in social media/digital/growth marketing with a proven ability to promote brands and build a following using social media and digital platforms
  • Undergraduate degree, or similar work experience (MBA preferred)
  • Ambition, persistence, willingness to take risks, and drive to transform economies in emerging markets

The ideal candidate is/has:

  • Self-driven and highly motivated with an ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with MailChimp (or similar email marketing platforms)
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial company and drive immediate results
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Video editing and design experience is a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator, HTM, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
  • SEO experience is a plus
  • Interest in startups, venture capital, or impact Investing is a plus

Location

This fellowship is remote-based with the potential opportunity to travel to some of our global locations.
