This role can be based remotely as long as the candidate is on a similar time zone to EAT/WAT and has the ability to travel to East and West Africa as needed.*

Lori is a venture-backed, rapidly growing start-up that is building a cutting-edge, tech-driven, logistics services platform that seamlessly coordinates haulage across frontier markets. With a mission to reduce the cost of goods, Lori is tackling a massive issue - $180 billion is spent annually on haulage across Africa, which means that up to 75% of a product’s cost is due to logistics (compared to 6% in the US).

Lori was recognized as the fastest growing start-up in Africa and won Techcrunch’s Battlefield Africa. The tech-enabled and operations-driven marketplace efficiently connects transport to cargo. The system brings transparency to the logistics industry and has significantly improved flexibility, reliability, and cost savings (upwards of 20%). Billions of dollars of cargo move through the Lori platform annually.

The market demand for Lori’s platform is increasing exponentially. To continue this pace of growth, Lori closed a landmark raise from globally leading institutional and strategic investors. Lori currently operates in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo with plans to expand within the next 12 months.

The Position

Lori is seeking a hands-on leader to join Lori as our Global Head of Enterprise Sales & Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to define and own the company’s end-to-end global sales, expansion, and marketing strategy, while building the supporting systems and structures to scale. You will establish strategic relationships, optimize customer acquisition, define regional go-to-market strategies, and deliver best-in-class account management.

Responsibilities:

-Define and execute Lori’s global enterprise sales strategy

-Identify new opportunities to increase sales, profitability, and geographic reach

-Establish and grow strategic relationships and key accounts

-Responsible for the CRM configuration, implementation, and internal adoption

-Spearhead Lori’s PR and Marketing strategy and efforts

-Own and track KPIs across the sales funnelLaunch tech-solutions with Lori sales teams and partners (cargo owners, transporters)

-Develop training materials and workshops for sales team and implement/enforce systems to optimize processes and resources


Requirements

-8+ yrs of experience in sales and marketing within a high-growth or tech focused environment (logistics industry experience a plus but not mandatory

-B2B enterprise sales experience with proven track record of scaling and growing sales teams

-Superior ability to design and operationalize systems that shorten sales cycles

-Cultural sensitivity with prior experience working in Lori’s current and/or future markets

-Excellent communication skills and networking capabilities with senior stakeholders

-Hyper-focused on execution and obsession with detail and processes

-Skilled at multitasking and managing competing priorities

-Strong analytical thinker who is data-driven

-Willingness to travel
